Following the U.S. Mint's decision to halt production of the penny in 2025, Coffee County Bank (CCB) and Coffee Bank & Trust (CB&T) have created the following frequently-asked-questions (FAQs) to help you navigate anticipated penny shortages in the short-term, as well as the penny's eventual removal from the nation's cash supply going forward.
NOTE: because pennies are most often used to create exact change in cash transactions, many digital payment methods will be unaffected.
However, in cases where pennies would be required to complete a transaction, Coffee County Bank, effective Dec. 2025, has implemented alternative methods for settling penny-denominated amounts in cash transactions.
Please review the following FAQs and as always, feel free to contact our team with additional questions.
